இன்று (26/01/2021) இந்தியாவின் 72 வது குடியரசு தினத்தை கொண்டாடுகிறோம். 1950 ஆம் ஆண்டில் சுதந்திர இந்திய அரசியலமைப்பு நடைமுறைக்கு வந்த தேதியை நினைவுகூரும் விதமாக இந்த நாளைக் கொண்டாடுகிறோம். இந்த நாளில் இந்தியா இதை இறையாண்மை கொண்ட ஜனநாயக, சோசலிச மற்றும் மதச்சார்பற்ற நாடாக உலகிற்கு அறிவித்தது.
இந்திய அரசியலமைப்பு அரசியலமைப்பு சட்டமன்றத்தால் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டு தயாரிக்கப்பட்டது. இந்திய அரசியலமைப்பின் சிற்பியாக டாக்டர் பி. ஆர். அம்பேத்கர் இருந்ததார், அரசியலமைப்புச் சபையில் 389 உறுப்பினர்கள் இருந்தனர், மேலும் இந்தியப் பிரிவினைக்குப் பிறகு இந்த எண்ணிக்கை 299 ஆகக் குறைக்கப்பட்டது. அரசியலமைப்பு சபையில் 299 உறுப்பினர்களில் 6 கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் இந்திய அரசியலமைப்பை உருவாக்குவதில் மற்றும் வடிவமைப்பதில் முக்கிய பங்கு வகித்தனர். இந்த மாபெரும் நாளில், அவர்களைப் பற்றியும், நமது தேசத்தைக் கட்டியெழுப்புவதில் அவர்கள் அளித்த பங்களிப்பைப் பற்றியும் தெரிந்துகொள்ள சவால் விடுகிறோம்
6 Christians who played major role in shaping and framing Indian
Today (26/01/2021) we celebrate India’s 72nd Republic day. We celebrate this day to commemorate the date on which the Constitution of Independent India came into effect in the year 1950. On this day India declared it as Sovereign democratic, Socialist and Secular country to the world.
Indian Constitution was framed and drafted by the Constituent Assembly.Having Dr. B. R. Ambedkar as it’s Chairman the Architect of Indian Constitution the Constituent Assembly had 389 members and the number was reduced to 299 after the Partition of India. Out of 299 members in the Constituent Assembly there were 6 Christians who played major role in shaping and framing Indian Constitution. On this great day we are challenged to know about them and their contribution towards our nation building.
Rajkumari Amrit Kaur: She was one of the 15 woman members of the Constituent Assembly. She the Instrumental in founding All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and fought for its autonomous. She served as India’s first health minister for ten years. The Times New York appreciated her contribution in making India better in the area health and honored her by calling as ” A Princess in her nation’s service”.
H. C. Mukherjee: It gives us proud to know that he was the Vice-president of Constituent Assembly. He was the first Indian to receive PhD in English literature from Calcutta University. He challenged Christians of his time to live above the bar and to keep their Christian witness before the non Christians.
Rev. Jerome D’ Souza: He was elected as member of Constituent Assembly in the year 1946 at the recommendations of Rajagopalachari. He made significant contribution in the area of national language and separate electorate for minorities. However he miserably failed to safeguard the rights of Schedule Caste Christians that the Schedule Castes in other religions are enjoying now.
P. K. Salve: He was born on 15th July in 1883 at Uijjain. His father was a direct descendant of Shalivahan dynasty. He was a talented lawyer and close associate of Mahatma Gandhi. He was also a member of Constituent Assembly and made notable contribution in writing India’s first Constitution. He was a recognised scholar and fluent in 14 languages.
J. J. M. Roy: He was born on 12th July in the year 1884 in the state called Meghalaya. He was one of the Architects of sixth schedule of Indian Constitution which was exclusively made to safeguard the tribal land, culture, resources and of the small populated indigenous people in the tribal areas.
J. L. P. Roche Victoria: He was born in a wealthy and eminent Paravar family in a Tutticorin district of Tamil Nadu. He served as a minister of food and fisheries from 1947 – 1952.
Dear friends let’s thank God for using His people as instrumentals to shape and frame our Constitution that gives us freedom and rights to be the citizens of this great nation. Their lives and contribution in making this nation better challenge us to use all our talents and resources to make our country and society more better for His glory.
